ASA INSTRUCTOR

Passion for all activities on the water and teaching sailing.
BIOGRAPHY
I have a passion for all activities on the water, including sailing, scuba diving, paddle boarding, and swimming. I recently obtained my PADI Dive Master certification and I spend my summers as a volunteer scuba diver for a non-profit in the Lower Salt River. The non-profit is focused on removing trash and finding lost treasures (cell phones, keys, etc) and returning them to their owners. It’s a super rewarding hobby and refreshing to be in the river when it’s scorching hot in Phoenix in the summer.
As a sailing instructor, I truly enjoy teaching students about the “magic” of sailing. There is a massive amount to learn in ASA 101, including a whole new vocabulary! I’m there to help students on their journey and I appreciate the challenge of learning a new sport like sailing, as I obtained my ASA 101 certification back in 2017. I really get a kick out of watching the students “get it”, become capable sailors, and then handling the sailboat like a seasoned skipper and crew. I own a 30 foot Catalina on Lake Pleasant and there is nothing quite as peaceful as hoisting the sails, shutting off the engine, and enjoying only the sounds of wind, and water.
